Ingredients:
3-5 lbs. package chicken wings (flats & drummettes)
½ package roasted garlic, basil, & parsley Banner Butter
2 C Buffalo sauce (I used Frank’s Hot Sauce)
3 TBS garlic, minced
3 TBS distilled white wine vinegar
2 TBS olive oil
BBQ rub of choice as desired (I used Meatchurch Holy Voodoo)
For the hot garlic sauce:
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat, then add the next three ingredients. Bring the sauce to a simmer, mixing as needed.
Once the sauce begins to simmer, reduce the heat to low and continue cooking the sauce for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside until ready to use.
For the smoked wings:
Preheat the grill or smoker to 275 degrees. Meanwhile, place the wings in a large bowl and discard the packaging. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and mix in with the wings until thoroughly coated.
Next, add the BBQ rub of choice and mix until the wings are thoroughly coated. Place the seasoned wings on tray liners and set them aside.
Once the grill or smoker is preheated, add the wings to the grill and smoke for 45-60 minutes. Once the skin begins to get crispy, remove the wings from the grill.
Toss the wings in the prepared hot garlic sauce until thoroughly coated. Place the wings back on the grill for 15-30 minutes, until the sauce has set. Remove the wings from the grill and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes.
Serve & enjoy!
