For National Dairy Month, we’ve teamed up with Sweet Grass Dairy to bring you a dish made in Georgia dairy heaven! This stovetop mac & cheese is a crowd pleaser, perfect for weeknight dinners, parties, or just a special treat. Special thanks to our team member Courtney Osbourne for this recipe, with help from expert sous chefs Finn and Dahlia!

Finn & Dahlia’s Dirty Mac and Cheese w/ Banner Butter Roasted Garlic Basil Parsley Cultured Butter, Sweet Grass Dairy Thomasville Tomme & Georgia Gouda

(Serves 6)
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:
1 lb. pasta
2.5 cups water
2-3 cups shredded cheese – we suggest using Georgia Gouda and Thomasville Tomme from Sweet Grass Dairy!
2 cups whole milk
5 tbsp Roasted Garlic, Basil & Parsley Butter
3 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tbsp salt (or to taste)

Directions:

  • Cut the rinds off the cheese pieces and shred– we recommend using the medium hole on your cheese grater.
  • Melt Roasted Garlic, Basil & Parsley Butter over medium heat.
  • Once the bubbling subsides, add flour and whisk until incorporated.
  • Continue to stir until the flour cooks through.
  • Add ½ of the milk (1 cup) to create a slurry.
  • Add the remaining milk (1 cup) and stir to combine.
  • Add pasta and water.
  • Mix all together and bring to a simmer.
  • Once simmering lower heat to medium low
  • Stir 9 -10 minutes.
  • Add cheese a handful at a time and incorporate it, stirring regularly.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
