All you need is 2 ingredients and a grill (we used our Big Green Egg) to make this crowd-pleasing dessert, perfect for Summer! These melt-in-your mouth grilled peaches can be enjoyed warm off the grill or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
INGREDIENTS:
4 fresh peaches
5-6 Tbsp Banner Butter Cinnamon, Cardamom & Ginger Cultured Butter. The butter adds just a touch of sweetness, and a whole lot of rich warm flavor to our favorite summer fruit! Find it at Whole Foods!
INSTRUCTIONS
Prep your grill and your peaches:
- Remove your Banner Butter Cinnamon, Cardamom & Ginger Cultured Butter from the refrigerator and place in a bowl to soften (5 and a half tablespoons is about 2.5 ounces or about a half of a round).
- While your butter is softening, prepare your grill:
- Clean and grease your grill grate.
- Fire up the Big Green Egg to 350-400 degrees.
- While the grill is heating up, prep your fresh peaches. Simply wash then slice down the middle, removing the pit.
Time to grill:
- Place your peaches on the grill flat side down and baste the back with the melted butter. Close the lid.
- Wait 5-7 minutes
- Open the lid and use tongs to carefully turn the peaches over. You should see char marks on the peaches.
- Baste the centers of the peaches with more butter (be careful of any flames popping up due to melting butter!) leaving a tablespoon or so for later.
- Close the lid, and try to keep your mouth from watering for another 5-7 minutes.
- When they are nice and soft, remove the peaches from the grill. Let rest for a few minutes and then apply the remaining butter on top of the freshly grilled peaches.
Enjoy:
- Let the peaches cool just a bit before sinking your teeth in.
- Take it up a notch with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
