Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Double 8 Cattle ground beef
  • 8 Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits (or biscuits of choice)
  • 2 TBS + 1 TSP all-purpose flour
  • 1 C heavy cream
  • 1 TBS Banner Butter Smoked Sea Salt Butter
  • 1/8 TSP thyme, dried
  • 1/8 TSP rosemary, dried
  • ½ -1 TBS red pepper flakes (as desired)
  • Salt & Black pepper, to taste

Tools:

  • Measuring cups
  • Grill or propane burner
  • Large cast-iron skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • Pam spray (to prevent the biscuits from sticking)
  • Slotted wooden spoon
  • Serving spoon
  • Paper towels

Procedure:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and place the biscuits on a baking sheet sprayed with Pam. Once the oven has preheated, add the baking sheet to the oven and cook per package instructions (21-27 minutes or until golden brown). Once cooked to desired doneness, set aside on a plate until ready to use.
  • While the biscuits are in the oven, place a large cast-iron skillet over high heat. Once the skillet is hot, add the ground beef and cook until browned (5-10 minutes). Make sure to break up the ground beef thoroughly while cooking.
  • Using a slotted spoon, scoop the ground beef onto a plate. Blot as much grease as possible out of the skillet with a paper towel, then add the ground beef back to the skillet.

  • Next, add flour, butter, and heavy cream. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until thickened (10-15 minutes), stirring as needed to prevent the flour from clumping.
  • Once the gravy has finished, add thyme, rosemary, and red pepper flakes, and stir. Serve the gravy over the finished biscuits, seasoning with salt and pepper as desired, and enjoy!
